Azure is the sky.
The sun drifting behind
the mountains.
The breeze is warm,
soft, and light.
A perfect summer evening
on the Puget Sound.
The sailboat glides swiftly
and gracefully
through the water.
Alone and free
to go wherever
the breeze decides.
Evenings as these,
the cruel, strong,
and treacherous sea
is a distant memory.
For tonight, she
giggles.
The water rippling
along the sides of the
sailboat.
The breeze has carried me
away from shore.
The sun has slipped
behind the mountains,
out of sight.
Stars appear
one by one.
The moon replaces
the sun.
Moonbeams
play on the water,
softly dancing
celebrating the night.
The sails glow
The stars twinkle
The breeze softly calls…
One response to “Azure is the Sky”
I sure wish I could be out on that water in that boat with you right now!
